Hello everyone,

I will be away on business for the next 5 days, so I won’t be able to make any new podcasts for you until I get back. While I’m gone, I have a favor to ask you: it would be great if you could let me know which type of podcast you find most useful.

Which of our two main formats do you like best?

  • 2-minute English
  • Real English Conversations
  • Both formats
  • I would like something else altogether (tell us what!)

You can either post in comments here, or send an email through the contact form, or why not record a message? :-)

I’ll be back on 17 October, and you can look forward to more frequent podcasts after that!

Bye for now,
Lori

    Hi Lori

    I prefer Real English conversations.
I like your sexy voice when speaking in conversation with English person.

  2. Christian says:

    Hey,

I go with Akiras opinion. The Real English Conversations are better.
They sound more REAL then the 2-Minute thing.

  3. Salvo says:

    Hello Lori.

    This is Salvo from Rome.
I agree with Akira and Christian. Real English is what I prefer. Keep it up!
    Bye.

  4. Paolo says:

Hi, both formats are ok for me.
    Good job !
    Thank you.

  5. Juanmi says:

Hi Lori, I agree with everybody, Real English Conversations are more interesting, (And I agree with Akira, your voice it’s really pleasant;) but I think that the 2 minutes english are very usefull, moreover, you provide us with authentic examples and links to lectures or thinks like that.
    Thanks a lot again.
    Bye!

This podcast is one of the very few ESL podcasts that feature authentic conversations by native speakers. Obviously to be able to speak English effectively, one must listen to A LOT of natural speech/conversations by native speakers that are unscripted. I am an ESL learner and I am truly blessed to have found this podcast by Lori. There are literally 2,000 podcasts currently on my itunes on the subject of ESL learning but most are on English stories, news, grammars and vocabularies. They are a help to my writing and vocabulary building but NOT to my English speaking skill. So when I found this betteratenglish podcast, I knew this was what I’ve been looking for in an ESL podcast.

Eventually, Real English Conversations is what would REALLY matter in English learning podcasts, but their availability is so limited.

Please produce more of the Real English Conversations, Lori, and THANKS A MILLION !!!!

(P.S. I tried to write a comment on itunes but I couldn’t create an apple account because we couldn’t do that in our country)

    Hi everyone,

I’m logging in from the hotel’s compuer in Mexico City just to thank you all for your helpful feedback (and encouragement!) so far. It’s a real kick to know that someone finds what I do here useful, particularly since I do B@E in my free time. Thomas, thanks for at least trying to leave a review on iTunes — much appreciated!

It sounds like so far, most of you are mainly interested in conversational English (I’m not surprised), so I’ll do my best to prioritize that in the upcoming weeks. Even the 2-minute English format can focus on idioms and conversational expressions.

Thanks again for your helpful comments!

  8. Jamie says:

I have some problem with the ‘recorder’ site, I tried many times but failure, It’s my problem maybe. Anybody can succeed?

I think both formats are very useful for me. Real English Conversations are better at communion, and the 2-minute English let me learned some phrases and idioms. I’ve always admired your work very much, and I can never thank you enough.

Just forgot to say, I very like your voice! ;)

  9. Cecilio López says:

    Hi Lori,

I’m just arrive to your podcast, and I’m very grateful to you.
If I had to choose, the real conversations are better.

    Thank you from Spain
    Cecilio López

  10. Antonis says:

    Hi Lori,

I have just found out this podcast and I think it is very interesting. In my opinion Real English Conversations is what all others podcast sites don’t offer and I think it will improve my speaking abilities.

    Thanks Antonis

  11. Lori says:

Jamie, sorry to hear the recorder site isn’t working for you. I’ve tested it myself and it worked fine. If you want to email me and describe the problem you’re having, I’ll look into it.

Thanks again to everyone for their useful comments; it really makes a difference knowing that you’re listening!
