Interview with Lori from Better at English

Hi everyone,

Despite the embarrassing lack of activity here at Better at English, I’m still very much alive and kicking. In fact, Ana from Inglês Online, a great online resource for Brazilian learners of English, caught up with me for a quick interview. You can find it (audio and transcript) here.

Thanks to everyone for your emails and comments the past few months. I’ll be back with season two as soon as I can figure out how to work creating at least one episode per week into my schedule.

Best of luck with your continued English learning,
Lori

Hi Lori.I am Brasilian but I am living in the USA for 12 years. I lived in Baltimore MD for 10 years and currently in Fort Lauderdale FL.When I was in Baltimore I learned a little bit better English because there is not a lot immigrantes like me but in Florida there are so many and I cannot improve my english here because everywhere I go I listen people speaking spanish portuguese and so forth. As you can se it is hard you know better than me, so I am stuck in some websites like yours to learn and improve my english like listening, conversation etc, but I would like to know if a real english I mean a natural english ( english spoken on street , bus stop, shops, restaurants etc) would be better for us so, I would like to get some episodes with natural conversations if I get it I am so grateful.T,Y V.M
How I do to send some donations for help and support your w.s. I hope you return my request TY bye

  34. emad on September 13th, 2009 17:06

sorry every one, i just want to ask a question..

in english grammer, is it right to say “MUCH BETTER”
or there is something wrong with it? please i need help with that,, thanks :)

  35. Lori on September 15th, 2009 12:36

Emad, there is nothing inherently wrong about using the expression “much better.” I suppose the only criticism would be that it’s rather vague language, and some sticklers might wish you’d been more specific about the grade or nature of the improvement.

  36. Lori on September 15th, 2009 12:39

Thanks, Anton. I’m glad you’re enjoying what we do here!
